Gratitude Challenge: Day 8

So have you figured out that I've written these in advance? Assuming no disasters occured, I"m deep in the heart of Texas, bonding with some fabulous women I've known for years...but only met for the first time this weekend.

Isn't technology a good thing?

And that my friends is what I"m grateful for today...more specifically the gadgets we take for granted these days...laptops, cell phones...high speed internet, email, blogging. Little gadgets and feautres that make it so much easier to stay in touch when adventures take us away from home and family.

I agree, the electronic conveniences are wonderful. After all, that's how I met you :)

Can you imagine how much easier college would have been with the internet? Kids today have it so good, and they don't even know it. There we were, walking to the library on campus, uphill both ways, in blinding snow - because it was always snowing in the olden days - with only a home made sandwich for sustanance once we got to the library. There was none of this swinging by Starbucks for a latte! We drank diet coke out of the machine - and were GRATEFUL for it!

Whew.... it's not easy being my father! I better go call him on my cell phone on my way to grab a scone and a latte.
